The Remodeling Awards of Excellence are chosen annually by the Maryland Building Industry Association. These award winners are judged by industry professionals, such as; interior designers, architects and peers, for the following criteria: Quality of Construction, Degree of Difficulty, Value & Cost Effectiveness, Design & Sensitivity to Existing Structure. The Awards of Excellence honor the outstanding contributions of those Maryland contractors who submit remodeling projects completed in the past 30 months.
Owings Brothers Contracting have been Award of Excellence winners for the past 15 years with many of their projects showcased in Chesapeake Home, Style and Baltimore Magazine. These winning projects are just a sampling of the over 1500 projects completed by them for the 33 years of building in the Maryland area. Included in their award winning craftsmanship they have been voted Remodeler of the Year on several occasions, as well as, Builder of the Year by the Home Builders Association of Maryland. They have also been recognized for their outstanding craftsmanship by Hanley Wood Remodeling Magazine Big 50, Qualified Remodeler’s Top 500 and Best of Baltimore to name a few.
Award of Excellence Kitchen Remodel $95,000-$130,000
This couple, a New England transplant, fell in love with the beautiful view at this waterfront home. Unfortunately the kitchen did not offer a view of the water but of the family room wall. Redesigned, the new living space offers scenic views from the kitchen through the family room.
Silver Award Outdoor Living $25,000-$50,000
This home remodel in Howard County was completed for a busy professional who chose this wooded hide-away for their weekend retreat home. The NanaWall was installed to expand the small kitchen/dining area, as well as, offer the beauty of the outdoors indoors.
Award of Excellence Interior Remodel $50,000-$175,000
This is high rise living at it’s best with a view of the Baltimore Inner Harbor. The homeowners wanted to open up the common living space so that there was a view and access to the roof top terrace that wrapped around three sides of the condo.
Silver Award Interior Remodel $30,000-$50,000
The homeowners had multiple projects, but the bathroom was the focus and greatest pain for them. The goal was to have a high level of finish, but meet their specified design criteria, which included relocating fixtures and bringing the bathroom up to current standards.
Award of Excellence Other Remodel Project $150,000-$300,000
This more contemporary/transitional basement is located in a traditional home with many traditional details. This homeowner wished to break ranks and pursue something that was fun, clean, different – party zone meets sophistication.
