In this third project, a first-floor interior remodel, the focus was on transforming the heart of the home—reimagining the kitchen, dining room, and primary suite, while adding a much-needed family room to enhance both function and flow. The result is a cohesive, thoughtfully layered design that balances warmth, timelessness, and everyday livability.
The Kitchen
The kitchen sets the tone with a palette rooted in warmth and subtle contrast. Soft gray cabinetry provides a classic foundation, ensuring longevity in style, while hints of wood introduce depth and natural texture. The interplay between these finishes creates a space that feels inviting yet refined. Designed with both entertaining and daily life in mind, the kitchen opens seamlessly into the surrounding spaces, making it ideal for hosting gatherings or keeping up with the rhythm of a busy family.
Adjacent to the kitchen, the dining room cabinetry complements the overall design without feeling like an extension of the kitchen itself. It carries through similar tones and materials, yet maintains its own identity, allowing the dining space to feel distinct while remaining harmonious. This thoughtful continuity strengthens the open-concept layout, creating visual flow while defining each area with purpose.
Family Room Addition
The newly added family room has quickly become the heart of the home. Designed as a gathering space, it brings everyone together in one comfortable, welcoming environment. The fireplace serves as a natural focal point, with carefully selected stone that adds texture and character without overwhelming the room. Its subtle variation and organic feel provide warmth and dimension, enhancing the overall aesthetic while maintaining a clean, balanced look. This addition is accessed through a new hallway from the kitchen and an exterior door off the deck.
Primary EnSuite
In the primary suite, the bathroom blends modern design elements with timeless, old-world touches. The walk-in shower features a graceful arched niche that introduces architectural interest and softness to the space. This contemporary detail is beautifully contrasted by furniture-style vanities that evoke a sense of heritage and craftsmanship. An ornate freestanding tub anchors the room, offering both elegance and a luxurious retreat-like experience.
Storage was also a key priority throughout the primary suite. Custom bedroom cabinetry provides essential clothing storage while maintaining the look and feel of fine furniture, elevating functionality into a design feature. This is complemented by a spacious walk-in closet, offering additional closed storage to keep the space organized and serene.
