Three Season Addition
These homeowners have dreamed of adding a three season addition to their house that would enable them to enjoy their beautifully landscaped yard. Living in the neighborhood of their choice with a desire to stay the only thing missing was the ability to enjoy the view. Owings Home Services designed a rear addition that complemented the original home and provided two walls of windows and an enormous floor to ceiling fireplace.
You can add a sunroom, three season room, or screened porch to your home and secure additional living space. If your home is located in an idyllic setting like this house what better way to enjoy the outdoors more months out of the year than by building an addition. The room looks as though it is located in a tropical paradise! The trapezoid Pella transom window captures the sunlight and the height of the mature trees in the yard. Two walls of windows and transoms invite nature into the new space and provide a “treehouse” feel. Further increasing the infusion of natural light are the skylights built into the A-frame ceiling.
Providing a truly modern look to this three season room is the Mezzo linear, gas fireplace surrounded by floor to ceiling Ledger stone. The fireplace offers extra warmth to the room on chilly days. Though the room isn’t heated the fireplace is vented to add heat to the new space as does the heated tile floor. Wood-look ceramic flooring tile by Daltile was chosen to give a warm yet resilient look. For added style, the tiles are installed in a herringbone pattern mimicked by the green and white area rug.
Three Season Addition Exterior
The exterior of the three season addition blends perfectly with the existing house. We covered it in the same vinyl siding and green architectural roof shingles to match the existing roof. To offer additional outdoor storage the entire space under the addition is enclosed in a white vinyl lattice with securable doorways. This provides access to stored outdoor furniture, yard equipment, and other necessities. The original deck was removed and a new Trex deck and rails were built offering an outdoor living space enjoyed by all!
