Budget Friendly Remodeling

Remodeling on a Budget

Everyone has a budget, some smaller and some larger.  Remodeling your home is a great investment and definitely can increase the quality of a family’s life.  The two top remodeling projects for most homeowners are the kitchen and baths.  This family was able to make amazing transformations with budget friendly remodeling to their kitchen and three bathrooms.  These awe-inspiring renovations will motivate you to update your own kitchen and bathroom and for more information check out our bathroom gallery.

Budget Friendly Bathrooms

This homeowner updated the hall and master bath in the same contemporary style. The clean, transitional European feel includes wall mounted vanities with molded sinks and pristine white countertops. A few differences in design is the longer length floating vanity for the hall bath and in place of the alcove tub is an enlarged shower boasting custom shower glass hung with chrome brackets.  Looks expensive but the vanities were purchased at Wayfair and installed by Owings Brothers. Our experienced procurement department can find the best price for the best fit for your personal style.

The floor and shower tile in both bathrooms is from Emser and the style is Ambiance Golopogos.  Indicative of contemporary design is the large 12″ x 24″ tile in a stacked pattern with a monochromatic theme.  For safety sake, we installed nonslip honed tiles on the floor but used polished tile on the shower walls. We lightened the space by choosing frosted single-panel glass doors for the water closet and master closet allowing the flow of natural light.  Kohler Verdara LED side-lit medicine cabinets are hanging above the vanities and eliminate the need for sconces keeping the style simple and uncluttered.

Even on a budget, you can add a little luxury to your bathroom remodel.  This family included a large soaker tub installed perfectly in the center of the windows to afford a beautiful view while enjoying a relaxing soak.  Complementing the modern theme are simple, sleek, chrome plumbing fixtures such as the floor mounted tub filler.

Budget Friendly Kitchen

In keeping with the homeowner’s budget, it was decided to give the kitchen a facelift in lieu of a total overhaul.  The kitchen cabinets were in good shape and met the need for the family’s storage so the old oak cabinets were painted cream.  The transformation is astounding.  A more light and airy look was accomplished with just a coat of paint!
A new addition to the kitchen is the spacious and more functional island.  The new island affords space to accommodate seating and matches the painted cream cabinets.  All the countertops were replaced with granite to add warmth and movement to the kitchen and to tie everything together. Another addition to this budget-friendly kitchen is the classic cream beveled and polished subway tile in a stacked pattern backsplash to keep things easy to clean.  Oil rubbed bronze hardware was used to balance out the stainless steel and black appliances against the cream cabinets. This kitchen transformation makes a significant change to the style and function of the kitchen.  Take a look at the before and after photos.
