Canton Contemporary Condo

Baltimore City Kitchen Remodel

This Canton contemporary condo was designed by architect, Brion Lipschutz from Kleinrock Studio Architecture in Washington DC.  The homeowner desired a contemporary look but wanted the starkness of stainless softened with several natural elements.  One just element is the black walnut live edge natural wood countertop pass-thru into the dining area.  Nothing matches the warmth and beauty of natural live edge wood slabs. The organic wood grain patterns and live edge combined with the rich warm color provide a natural beauty that softens the industrial stainless steel appliances, railings, lighting, and hardware.

The design also incorporated tongue and groove wood ceilings in the dining area and kitchen and an architectural wood wall treatment for the living room.  The Adoni Black Natural Slate and Engineered Hard Maple Travertine wood flooring also brings an element of warmth to the polished countertops, ceramic backsplash and glass wall of windows overlooking the city around them.

To create this gourmet kitchen in this contemporary condo a Bosch Speed Oven, Verona Classic 36″single oven/range from Italy and a dishwasher from the Swedish manufacturer Asko were selected.  The client also purchased the beautiful handcrafted Ultra Cream with black patine backsplash tiles from an artisan in San Francisco California and each tile is hand made with a texture effect giving it an old-world charm.

The metamorphosis is breathtaking.  See for yourself and check out our contemporary remodeling gallery.
