Chef’s Dream Kitchen

This Roland Park kitchen remodel boasts beautiful Calacatta Supreme Extra Marble countertops on the perimeter and double island giving this kitchen a clean and bright appearance.  Stainless steel appliances, including the Viking side by side refrigerator, bring a light reflective and industrial look.  The homeowners love to entertain and cooking is a serious matter.  A custom made stainless steel exhaust hood was crafted to meet their exact specifications by Handcrafted Metals and was installed over their commercial Viking stove.  Another important addition to their newly remodeled kitchen is a full-size Eurocave Wine Cooler to keep refreshing beverages at hand for entertaining guests.  Each element of this beautiful remodel was selected for ease of function incorporating the best kitchen appliances.

The metamorphosis from the dated kitchen to what can only be called a light, bright contemporary kitchen fit for entertaining and cooking.  Who wants to leave the kitchen that looks as fine as this one?  The beautiful refinished oak hardwood flooring warms up the neutral palette in more ways than one.  Take a look at the toe-kick lighting that offers a bit of drama to the room, as well as, safety for slipping into the kitchen for a late night snack.  This type of lighting is also great as an accessibility feature for seniors that can lose depth perception as they age.

Along with the toe-kick lighting we installed under cabinet task lighting which gives a warm glow to the timeless look of the Calacatta marble tops.  Recessed lights were installed in the ceiling to give overall light to the kitchen and beautiful long and short intermittent coil lighting pendants in polished silver for the island lighting.   The additional puck lighting that was chosen for the glass front cabinets brings a shine to the glassware stored for easy access.

Most importantly are the cabinets, which is the major component of any kitchen space.  Dura Supreme Crestwood Chapel Hill cabinets were installed in Storm Gray for the islands and Ice Cube with a Platinum glaze on the perimeter. The added bling or jewelry chosen for the cabinets is the Spa drawer pulls with blue glass inlay. Gorgeous!  As to function, the double kitchen island design offers this homeowner abundant storage space and an expansive worktop to prepare delicious meals while guests sit comfortably at the second island enjoying a glass of wine while visiting with the cook.  This allows inclusion of the hardworking host in all the latest news of their friends and family’s lives.  This same island can also offer the opportunity for casual dining or everyone can move to the private patio adjacent to the kitchen and accessed by French doors.

Take a look at the before and after photos and you will be amazed at the revitalized kitchen in this 1925 Baltimore City home.  The busy fruit and vegetable ceramic tile backsplash GONE, the dark blue Corian tops GONE, the wasted space GONE.  In its place, we see clean, cool, crisp kitchen design and bright white components with an efficient space plan and updated appliances to please the most discriminating taste.
