Rancher Gets A Second Floor!
Our client was in search of a home in a specific area. This limited him to purchasing a existing house without the option of building a newly home. After several years of searching, he revisited a home that he had previously toured. He had determined that the lot was everything he had wanted, but the house was lacking the type of design and curb appeal that he desired. It needed a second floor addition.
With the help of a qualified architect they had come to terms with an extensive remodel that would transform the existing house into a home that met his needs. Check out this second floor addition to a rancher. What a difference it makes to the square footage of the home, but also to the look of the front and rear elevations. Situated on a beautiful lot the homeowner now has an octagonal shaped breakfast room with windows. The most important change is the addition of a beautiful, second floor sitting room that overlooks the back yard. This sitting area is adjacent to the master bedroom that also has a view of the wooded lot. We were able to maintain the majority of the footprint, leave flanking components of the existing structure and accommodate the homeowners wish to transform an 80’s remuddle into an elegant and tastefully detailed traditional design.
