Painted Kitchen Cabinetry

This homeowner chose custom-painted kitchen cabinetry by DuraSupreme in a deep forest tone to set the mood.  The mature landscaping surrounding this Ruxton home is the perfect backdrop to a rustic, woodsy look for the newly remodeled kitchen and family room. New Pella sliding doors were installed in a matte black finish that opens to a beautiful new patio and mature gardens and the large kitchen windows were painted to match.  Our client opted for us to raise the ceiling in the existing kitchen to a vaulted ceiling expanding the space visually.  Notice the unique rustic touch the Longhorn steer’s skull proudly exhibits as a trademark sign of the homeowner’s personal leather works business.

For a pleasing contrast and to lighten the space we adorned the cabinetry with natural Olympian White Honed Marble countertops and backsplash.  The beautiful existing hardwood floors in the 1940s home were refinished to add to the kitchen’s fresh new look.

We created a custom-built drywalled and trimmed exhaust hood to perfectly fit.  Behind the stove, a handcrafted white porcelain tile with an iridescent finish in a herringbone pattern is an exquisite touch.  All the open shelving balancing the custom hood accentuates the hardwood flooring and handmade high-top custom kitchen table.  To coordinate with the black-painted windows and door black iron cabinet hardware was selected as were the matte black wall sconces.  Iron and leather was predominant theme in this rustic style as showcased by the beautiful natural leather and iron stools at the table.

Family Room Painted Cabinetry

The painted kitchen cabinetry was then extended to the adjacent family room to complete the look of this open-concept floorplan.  The bookcases and bar cabinetry also sport the same black iron hardware to keep continuity. To complete the rustic style grasscloth wallpaper was chosen throughout the family room as was leather and iron casual furniture for relaxing.
