Kitchen Remodel and Extravagant Pantry

Kitchen Expansion

This 1990s home was ready for a kitchen that felt as functional as it was beautiful. The original layout lacked both personality and the storage needed for modern living, so this remodel focused on transforming the space into a hardworking hub with warmth, charm, and intention behind every detail. The new design for this kitchen remodel, and an extravagant pantry, were realized!

One of the most impactful changes was reimagining the adjacent bathroom as a walk-in pantry and dedicated prep space. By converting this underutilized square footage, we dramatically increased storage while creating a secondary zone that supports the main kitchen. This prep pantry allows for overflow appliances, bulk goods, and everyday essentials to have a home—freeing the kitchen to feel open and uncluttered. It’s a thoughtful solution that enhances both flow and function.

In the main kitchen, cabinetry takes center stage. The soft green finish introduces whimsy and warmth, breathing new life into the once-dated space. It’s a color choice that feels fresh yet timeless, adding personality without overpowering the room. Complementing the cabinetry is a beautifully crafted wood hood on the cooktop wall. The natural wood tone brings depth, texture, and contrast, creating a focal point that anchors the design and adds visual interest.

Storage was a key driver in every decision. On the range wall, where upper cabinets were minimized to maintain an open feel, we incorporated pantry towers to compensate. These tall cabinets provide generous storage for dry goods, cookware, and small appliances, ensuring that function never takes a back seat to aesthetics. To the left of the range, a custom niche offers a convenient spot for spices and frequently used oils—keeping everyday items within arm’s reach while maintaining a clean, tailored look.

Extravagant Pantry

The walk-in prep pantry was designed with efficiency in mind. Open shelving allows for quick access to commonly used items, making meal prep seamless and intuitive. Below, closed cabinetry conceals less attractive essentials, striking the perfect balance between display and discretion. This layered storage approach keeps everything organized while preserving a polished appearance.

The result is a kitchen that feels intentional, inviting, and highly functional. What was once a dated 90s layout is now a thoughtfully curated space that supports the homeowner’s lifestyle. With expanded storage, dedicated prep areas, and design elements that add warmth and character, this remodel proves that smart planning and creative vision can completely transform the heart of a home.
