The solution was to temporarily support the existing second floor of the home, install a large beam, and remove the bearing and non-bearing walls. We also updated cabinets and countertops and added a large double stainless steel sink with a new goldtone faucet. We included a stainless steel range, vented custom range hood, built-in microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, and custom lighting. We added final touches to this kitchen with engineered stone flooring and countertops, painted walls, trim, and ceiling in neutral colors to reflect the natural light. We took a once-dark and dreary kitchen and opened up the space by adding the dining room and a bump-out with a double window, creating a light and bright environment.
